Effective October 31, 2022, John Deere will end sales of GS2 2600 and 1800 activations. Customers may continue to use GS2 displays until it becomes unusable for reasons such as hardware/software failure or incompatibility.

Why?

It's been many years since sales of GreenStar 2 displays ended. GS2 2600 sales ended in 2010 at the launch of the GS3 2630. GS2 1800 sales ended in 2018 with the arrival of the Gen 4 4240 Universal Display. John Deere is making this change as they continue to release new technologies on Generation 4 displays and StarFire 7000 receivers that enable customers to be more precise and productive on their farms. This change will reduce complexity and simplify the Precision Ag offerings.

I am a GS2 2600 or 1800 owner. What should I do?

Talk to your local John Deere dealer to discuss options or to purchase activations before October 31, 2022. Now may be good time to consider a John Deere Gen 4 4240 or 4640 universal display to replace your GS2 display. Contact your Prairie State Tractor sales representative for assistance.
