Jan. 5 2018 New Products By Prairie State Tractor

John Deere just introduced two new XUV Gator Models for model year 2018. The new gas-powered Gator XUV835 and diesel-powered Gator XUV865 provide advances in versatility, durability and comfort. These new models were designed to provide all-day comfort in all seasons and all kinds of weather, and deliver a smoother ride over tough terrain. Some key features include the quietest cab yet, three-wide seating, and exceptional heating and air conditioning in the cab models. The new full-size Gator utility vehicles help farmers and landowners maximize productivity and comfort in all types of conditions and terrain.

Let’s explore the highlights of these two models:

XUV835

  • Gas-powered
  • 54-Horsepower vs. previous 50-Horsepower
  • Reaches top speeds of over 45 mph

XUV865

  • Diesel Engine
  • 23-Horsepower
  • Reaches top speeds of over 30 mph

Both XUV Models are compatible with over 90 attachments to increase the versatility and performance of your vehicle. They also feature an 11 gallon fuel tank vs. the previous 7.5 gallon fuel tank to keep you running longer.

Seating

These are the very first Gators to have three-wide seating. You can now comfortably fit 3 adults in these new Gator models.  Both models include an adjustable driver’s seat, ample legroom and tilt steering to provide exceptional comfort. The gear shift control is also now located on the dash.

New Available HVAC & Pressurized Cab

Customers now have the option of an HVAC system and pressurized cab to keep them comfortable regardless of the weather and season. The cabs are outfitted with heat and air conditioning. Now you can keep cool on those hot summer days and warm during the winters and snowy conditions.

Capacity

The new vehicles offer not only a sleek design but also increase capacity with a versatile, durable cargo box. The Gators have a towing capacity of 20,000 pounds and a cargo capacity of 1,000 pounds.

“E”, “M”, OR “R” Trim Levels

The launch of these new models also begins the transition of current models into new naming conventions. All XUV models will be designated as “E”, “M”, or “R” to correspond to the level of power and features of each unit. This labeling is the same labeling that John Deere uses for ZTrak Mowers, Compact Utility Tractors, and larger tractors. Basically, the higher the letter the more features that are included, and that is reflected in the price. For example, the XUV835M and XUV865M Gator models have power steering while the E entry-level models do not include power steering.

Highlights of the Level R Models

The XUV835R and XUV865R Gators will come standard with a climate-controlled cab and premium tan cloth seating and interior. These vehicles will have the most comfortable cab in the Gator lineup. The R level also includes upgraded attachment ready wiring to allow quicker installation of roof lights or other electrical attachments. The R models also come standard with brighter, longer-lasting LED headlights.

The new XUV835 and XUV865 Gators will be available starting Spring 2018. For more information about the new XUV models contact a salesman at any Prairie State Tractor dealership or visit new equipment pages.
