John Deere Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Being in the Skid Steer Loader Business
It has been 50 years since John Deere introduced its first skid steer loader. To celebrate, John Deere recently featured a restored, original 1970 John Deere Model 24 Skid Steer Loader along with its current lineup of Compact Construction Equipment at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 show in Las Vegas. The display showcased the advancements Deere has made in technology and productivity in compact construction over the last 50 years.
Since its first model released in 1970, John Deere’s lineup has expanded to eight models of Skid Steer Loaders, four models of Compact Track Loaders, five models of Compact Wheel Loaders, and six models of Compact Excavators. Deere now has a total of 23 models to meet the needs of farmers and landscapers to construction workers and everything in between, allowing operators to dig, push, lift and load material safely and efficiently.
To commemorate this milestone, customers who purchase a skid steer loader built between March 1 and December 31, 2020 will receive a special decal on the machine. Additionally, die-cast models of the 332G Skid Steer Loader in gold chrome with a 50th anniversary mark will be available for purchase at John Deere Factory Stores and at the CONEXPO/CON-AGG merchandise store.
