John Deere Online Parts Shopping: Shop.Deere.com vs Dealer Customer Portal

Apr. 7 2023 Parts & Service By Prairie State Tractor

When it comes to purchasing genuine John Deere parts there are multiple avenues to explore. While physically visiting any of our eight north central Illinois dealerships always remains an option, we do now offer online parts purchasing as well. Two online options that customers may consider are Shop.Deere.com and Prairie State Tractor's dealer customer portal. While both offer access to John Deere parts ordering, there are some key differences to consider. Let’s explore those differences.

Shop.Deere.com

Shop.Deere.com is John Deere’s official online parts store, offering a wide range of parts, accessories, and licensed merchandise. With Shop.Deere.com, you can purchase thousands of genuine John Deere parts for shipping or in-store pickup direct from your John Deere dealer. Additionally, from the website you can purchase John Deere merchandise, such as clothing, hats, toys, and home decor.

Advantages

  • Shipping option
  • Simple purchasing experience with product imagery
  • Single login connected to other Deere sites (Operation's Center, Property Center, My Financial)

Disadvantages

  • Limited parts selection (currently only carries the most commonly purchased maintenance and repair parts for John Deere equipment)

Dealer Customer Portal

A dealer customer portal, on the other hand, is a platform operated by a specific John Deere dealer - Prairie State Tractor. This platform provides you with real-time access to Prairie State Tractor’s parts inventory and services, as well as access to transaction history such as invoices, payments, and monthly statements with Prairie State Tractor. You can even browse our equipment inventory, request a quote, or schedule service through the portal. Additionally, Prairie State Tractor may offer unique dealer specific promotions or pricing that are not available through Shop.Deere.com.

Advantages

  • Ability to lookup, download, and print invoice history with Prairie State Tractor
  • Access to John Deere parts catalog
  • Ability to charge to in-house account and make payments
  • See which locations have inventory and how much of that inventory

Disadvantages

  • No shipping option
  • Can be hard to navigate for inexperienced shoppers

While both are convenient options to order John Deere parts, there are some key differences to consider. Shop.Deere.com may be a better option for residential customers with limited John Deere parts shopping experience. On the other hand, our portal could be the better solution for current Prairie State customers like farmers who have experience navigating parts catalogs or already know what parts numbers they need. The portal tends to be the preferred option for farm, ag service providers, and commercial mowing services.

Ultimately, the choice between Shop.Deere.com and PSTPortal.com will depend on the your needs and preferences. We recommend trying both options to see what you prefer. Whether you choose to shop using Shop.Deere.com or our portal, you can trust in the quality and reliability of John Deere parts.
