John Deere Updates Z900 Commercial ZTrak Lineup for 2021
The perfect lineup for large property owners, landscapers, park districts and more, this October, Deere announced improvements for its Z900 Commercial ZTrak Series for model year 2021, focusing on increasing productivity, efficiency and comfort. The updates for the series include machine enhancements, three new attachment options and the all-new Fastback™ PRO 60” and 72” Rear-Discharge Mower Decks for both gas and diesel Z900 models.
Let’s take a look at the key updates, benefits and brand-new Fastback PRO Deck:
Model Updates
- All Z900 M and R models now come with spoked rims and cast-iron spindles on all mower deck sizes. The cast-iron material provides superior impact strength while the gusseted design creates much-needed reinforcement in key areas, promoting longevity of the machine.
- Z900 E, M, and R models all feature a quick-release belt system, simplifying maintenance.
- The Z950M will have the option of a 54-inch Mulch on Demand™ Mower Deck, giving customers a powerful mulching solution.
New Attachments
These three new attachment options for the Z900 series will allow operators to conquer a variety of property maintenance tasks more quickly and easily.
- String Trimmer Tray: enables operators to keep handheld string trimmers on the machine for easy access.
- Cargo Tray: stores up to 20 pounds of small handheld tools such as gloves, pruning shears, spade, etc.
- Yard Tool Carrier: carries up to two long-handled yard tools in an upright position such as rakes, shovels, etc.
New Fastback PRO Rear-Discharge Decks
Deere recognized the need for a quality rear-discharge deck option for its customers. For model year 2021, customers will have the option of the new Fastback PRO Rear-Discharge Mower Deck for both gas and diesel Z900 models, available in 60- or 72-inch cutting widths. This new deck will provide customers with a valuable rear-discharge solution, increasing productivity and comfort without sacrificing cut quality.
The commercial-quality, deep-deck design ensures the mower can handle a large volume of material while the unique baffling system helps reduce clumping and windrowing. The baffles that surround each blade control and direct the grass material as it moves to the rear-discharge location. The entire innovative design of the deck shielding and baffles ensures the cut quality, clipping dispersion and debris management will meet customer expectations of a rear-discharge solution.
The rear-discharge deck is supported by the mower to provide a level cut. The mower deck wheels and rollers help smooth out mowing in uneven conditions and reduce the chance of scalping. Two wheel and roller heights, higher and lower, can be set based on the mowing conditions. All of these key features are backed by the machine’s durability and servicing improvements.
Additional Benefits of a Rear-Discharge Deck:
- Decreases the chance of damage from objects being thrown at the mower deck.
- Minimizes the amount of debris blown at the operator.
- Saves time by allowing operators to mow closely around fixed objects on either side of the mower deck.
