Model Year 2022 John Deere 9 Series Tractor Updates

New name and numbering
The model year 2022 9R Tractors feature updated styling along with new name and numbering that is aligned with the 7R and 8R Tractors. The new 9R Tractors feature the tractor series listed separately from the rated engine horsepower. For example, a 9RX 640 means the tractor is rated at 640 horsepower.

Improved power while reducing fuel use
2022 models feature improved power from an all-new PowerTech™ 13.6L (827-cu in.) engine, standard in 390 to 590 engine horsepower 9 Series Tractors. Not only does it supply 13.5% more horsepower than the previous 13.5L engine, but it also carries less weight and overall size, and creates 50% less engine noise.
Improved traction with increased ballast capacity
The maximum ballast on model year 2022 9R Tractors has increased for maximum traction and drivetrain efficiency.

Updated cab delivers the ultimate in operator comfort and convenience
The cab is more comfortable than ever before in the 9R Tractors. The operator’s station provides more headroom, a wider entry path, new seat options, a larger integrated refrigerator, a touchscreen radio, footrests, and more. Producers have the option to choose from three different comfort and convenience packages as displayed below.

Increase visibility and productivity with new visibility packages
For model year 2022, there are three new packages for visibility to help operators get more done regardless the time of day. The 9R visibility packages provide lighting, sunshades, and camera options that operators need to be comfortable for long working days.

John Deere Signature Edition package
"I will never put my name on a product that does not have in it the best that is in me” is a quote from John Deere, who prided himself in the quality of the products he manufactured every day. To honor this commitment, when ordering the John Deere Signature Edition, the tractor will include a decal with John Deere’s signature to indicate that the tractor has the best that John Deere has to offer. The John Deere Signature Edition includes the top package options for Comfort and Convenience, Visibility, Precision Ag Technology activations and connectivity, and ride comfort.
Hydraulic IPM option
Select 9 Series Tractors can be ordered with hydraulic Intelligent Power Management (IPM) that provides up to 50 extra horsepower depending on the gear chosen. IPM is unlocked via intelligent software monitoring hydraulic demand and engine power. When air seeding, Hydraulic IPM can provide additional engine power to seed up and over large hills and through the tough spots. This option is only available on the 9R 640, 9RX 640, 9R 590, and 9RT 570.
New factory-installed RTK options
All 9 Series Tractors now have the option for factory-installed RTK radio. Both 900-MHz and 450-MHz options will be available for factory installation, further integrating precision in John Deere's large ag tractors.
Integrated technology keeps operators on track
All 9 Series Tractors include a Gen 4 CommandCenter™ display, AutoTrac™ guidance activation, and JDLink™ Connect for 5 years in base while featuring an all-new StarFire 6000 Integrated Receiver.

- As soon as the tractor leaves the factory, it is ready with JDLink Connect for 5 years, providing John Deere Connected Support™ and Expert Alerts to keep operators up and running.
- StarFire 6000 Integrated Receiver
- Installed at the factory, the StarFire 6000 Integrated Receiver reduces setup time and eliminates terrain compensation module (TCM) calibrations. With reduced pull-in and remote software download times, precision agriculture has never been easier. All receivers are fully serviceable and upgradable to newer generations.

- This activation includes all John Deere Precision Ag applications so operators can spend more time focusing on job quality and less time operating the 9R Tractor.
