Quick Take: John Deere February 2020 New Product Launches
John Deere is always releasing new products to better serve their customers. Deere just introduced a variety of new products for both ag customers and large property owners. Let’s take a quick look at three of the products Deere announced this February: the all-new factory-installed ExactRate™ Liquid Fertilizer Application System, the new 1745 Planter with narrow transport, and the new 4M Heavy-Duty Compact Utility Tractor.
ExactRate Liquid Fertilizer Application System
In summary, this system is perfect for those farmers looking to apply liquid fertilizer during planting and want accurate nutrient placement. This factory-installed option will precisely monitor and control application of liquid fertilizer during planting. The new system gives operators row-by-row section control to help reduce fertilizer costs and the amount of chemicals applied by shutting off application in areas of overlap or non-application. John Deere ExactRate even compensates for both commanded rate changes and speed changes. It also provides curve compensation.
It is compatible with select models of John Deere planters with electric drive including the 1775NT, 1795, DB60, DB44, and DB66 Planters and can be operated at maximum speeds up to 10 mph. ExactRate apps are also compatible with the 4640 Universal Display and 4600 Command Center™ and deliver in-cab detection and in-field documentation for operators.

1745 MaxEmerge™ 5 Planter
This new, economical planter was designed to be compatible with older tractor models for smaller fields, no-till practices, and transport on narrow roads. Its simple design allows for compatibility with a variety of older tractors including the John Deere 4440 Tractor. To minimize non-productive planting time, the planter can also be quickly, pivot folded from the cab to a size that fits within the duals of the tractor for stable, narrow transport under 13-feet high.
Customers can choose from an 8-row, 30-inch or a 15-row, 15-inch configuration, with the option of keeping it simple or adding more advanced features such as the Pro-Shaft™ cable drive system, RowCommand™ row clutches, CCS, and the SeedStar™ XP monitoring system. The 15-row configuration is capable of planting both soybeans on 15-inch rows and corn on 30-inch rows. Three commodity storage options are available and include 1.6-bushel and 3-bushel row hoppers, or mini hoppers with the 50-bushel John Deere CCS central fill seed delivery system. Plus, this planter has the ability to apply dry or liquid fertilizer when planting corn.
The 1745 Planter is ideal for narrow transport with a maximum height under 13 feet.
Customers can add as much or as little technology to their 1745 Planter to best fit their operation.
The CCS option features a 50-bushel central fill seed delivery system.
