See What’s New for Model Year 2019 John Deere Combines

Jun. 29 2018 New Products By Holland and Sons

John Deere has made three major updates to their S-Series Combines to help improve grain harvesting. These updates work together to improve the performance, ride quality and small grain harvesting efficiency of Deere’s S-Series Combines. The three new additions include a new suspension track system, flex-draper header, and harvest-specific enhancements to the MyOperations™ Mobile App.

New Track System

For model year 2019, customers have the factory-installed option of a new suspension track system in 30- or 36-inch belt widths. The redesigned John Deere track system for these combines incorporates changes to the track belts, integrated final drive, suspension cylinder and tandem bogie wheels that work together to improve floatation, ride quality, transport speed and durability.

The new track system allows farmers to get in the fields sooner and harvest longer, especially in less than ideal harvesting conditions. There is also less impact on soils; a larger contact area compared to previous tracks improves flotation and reduces compaction. The new track system features a unique tread design with wider and taller tread bars that are angled to improve traction, balance and ride comfort while extending tread life.

For operator convenience, there is no daily maintenance with this system. It features an enclosed oil bath lubrication system. There is a 15% increase in lug height from the previous Ag belt design, providing extended belt life. Lateral oscillation of the mid-rollers contributes to even track wear. These tracks have an integrated final drive specifically designed for this system and the associated load it supports. Finally, combines with the new track system can reach transport speeds up to 24.9 mph, an increase of over 50%, to help you get to your next field faster.

700FD HydraFlex™ Draper

John Deere is also launching the newest in its flex draper lineup, the 700FD HydraFlex Draper. This symmetrically designed draper features a V-guide dual belt and a thicker, corrugated front edge for improver crop flow and a 4 times longer belt life. The updated front-edge design keeps debris from being caught and reduces clean-out time by a 1/3 compared to the 600FD. To improve ground sensing on uneven terrain and to automatically adjust header position accordingly, Deere added a fourth sensor to the Automatic Header Height Control option on the 35-, 40- and 45-foot models. The new 700FD HydraFlex Draper was specifically designed to deliver improved crop handling versatility, longer wear life, and feed and capture more grain.

MyOperations™ Mobile App Updates

Lastly, Deere has upgraded their MyOperations Mobile App for harvest operations. Now you can not only remotely view harvest information such as yield, moisture and area worked, you can also remotely adjust combine settings using real-time information for remote combine optimization. Managers will be able to make adjustments to five combine settings including:  concave clearance, rotor speed, fan speed, chaffer clearance, and sieve clearance. All combine operators will have to do is simply accept the changes on the in-cab display.

Managers can continue to make changes throughout the day as crop and harvesting conditions change. The app gives users immediate visual access to machine information from a single combine or an entire fleet to help improve overall harvesting operations. This new update is a great way for managers to ensure the combine is set and functioning properly even with less-experienced combine operators. This update will be available in the MyOperations App this fall 2018. Please note functionality is limited to model year 2018 and newer S700 combines. You will also need JD Link, a 4600 CommandCenter Display, and a Gen 4 Premium Activation. These new applications build on existing machine technologies, like Combine Advisor™ and Remote Display Access™ to allow owners or managers to remotely monitor combine performance and make adjustments.
